Basketball Recap: Dunsmuir Comes Up Short

Dunsmuir lost against Tulelake back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dunsmuir Tigers had to suffer through a 73-46 loss at the hands of the Tulelake Honkers. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 27 points.

Dunsmuir's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Kellar, who posted 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Dunsmuir's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gilbert Loza, who put up 12 points.

Dunsmuir is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Tulelake, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10.

Dunsmuir won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tulelake, they will host Hayfork at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
