Preview: Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes vs. Cooper City Cowboys
Pompano Beach is 1-8 against Cooper City since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cooper City Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pompano Beach ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 67-66 photo finish over Miami Beach.
It was another big night for Jonathan Berwig, who scored 25 points along with five assists and three steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Rowan, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Cooper City came up short against Miramar on Friday and fell 74-63.
The victory got Pompano Beach back to even at 9-9. As for Cooper City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Things could have been worse for Pompano Beach, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-40 loss to Cooper City in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Can Pompano Beach avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
