Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Churubusco). They really took it to the Central Noble Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-3 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Cougars are ranked 270th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Churubusco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colt Singleton out in front who rushed for 65 yards and two scores on only five carries. Singleton also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble, making seven total tackles, and defending one pass.

Churubusco's run defense was locked in: Central Noble could only muster 0.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Jack Huelsenbeck for the heroic effort on defense: he. Churubusco's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 2.8 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 8.53 on average over their last five games.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Churubusco, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Central Noble, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Churubusco will face off against West Noble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 11.6, the Chargers 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Central Noble, they will take on Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
