The Phoenix Military Firebirds were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 18-14 to the Kennedy Crusaders. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Phoenix Military's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Phoenix Military and Kennedy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Firebirds will face off against rival ITW David Speer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kennedy is set to challenge their familiar foe Agricultural Science at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
