Soccer Game Preview: Osceola vs. Clearwater

The Osceola Warriors will take on the Clearwater Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Osceola will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Osceola is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Palm Harbor University, who was ranked 11th at the time (Osceola was ranked 18th). While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Osceola who was credited with the victory on Friday. Osceola got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Palm Harbor University's three. Nico D?Angio had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Warriors.

Clearwater is headed into the game having not lost since December 9 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Pinellas Park onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Tornadoes have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Clearwater's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Osceola, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Osceola was able to grind out a solid win over Clearwater when the teams last played back in February of 2021, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osceola since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
