Volleyball Recap: Dickinson Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Dickinson took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Bellville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gators narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Brahmas 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted since August 21st.

Dickinson can attribute much of their success to Athina Rodriguez, who had 14 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Isla Chazaro also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Dickinson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Bellville, they moved to 9-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Dickinson will head out to challenge Fort Bend Elkins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellville, they will challenge Floresville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
