Basketball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Comes Up Short

Bishop Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Warriors are ranked 45th).

Bishop Montgomery now has a losing record at 12-13. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.

Bishop Montgomery has already played their next matchup (against Serra), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will face off against St. Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
