The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Clay City nor Bloomfield made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eels walked away with a 6-1 win over the Cardinals. For the Eels, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Clay City and bumps their season record up to 5-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Bloomfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Clay City will take on rival Shakamak at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bloomfield is set to challenge their familiar foe North Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
