Basketball Recap: Kennett Comes Up Short

Kennett lost against New Madrid County Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kennett Indians took a hard 64-48 fall against the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Madrid County Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Williams, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Williams continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ra'Mond Brooks, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Kennett has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for New Madrid County Central, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Madrid County Central has already played their next game, a 58-35 defeat against Poplar Bluff on the 13th.
