Basketball Recap: Broken Bow Comes Up Short

Broken Bow lost against McCook back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Broken Bow Indians lost 69-44 to the McCook Bison. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Broken Bow saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zachary Jackson posted 11 points. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Carrizales, who put up nine points.

Broken Bow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for McCook, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broken Bow will challenge Sandhills Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Broken Bow is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for McCook, they will square off against Gothenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McCook knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Gothenburg likes a good challenge.
