Soccer Game Preview: Mills vs. Woodside

Mills is 1-8-1 against Woodside since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Mills Vikings will host the Woodside Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Mills is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Hillsdale on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the FIGHTING KNIGHTS. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while the FIGHTING KNIGHTS are ranked 177th).

Meanwhile, Woodside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars.

Woodside's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six matches. As for Mills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2.
