Recap: Ogden Tigers vs. Morgan Trojans

The Ogden Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 69-41 loss at the hands of Morgan. Ogden has not had much luck with Morgan recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Salote Tonga, who scored nine points. Isabella Nestel was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Morgan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydence Wardell, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Wardell has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Eva Birkeland, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Ogden has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Morgan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ogden will face off against South Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for Morgan, they will head out on the road to face off against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grantsville is coming into the match with six straight wins at home, so Morgan is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
