Calvary Christian faced Tampa Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Terrapins, sneaking past 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on 13 straight.
Calvary Christian was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 15-4.
Calvary Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Allcott out in front who had 11 assists and five digs. Peyton Slone also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Despite the loss, Tampa Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Merenda had ten digs.
