Basketball Game Preview: South Dearborn Knights vs. Batesville Bulldogs

Two dominant forwards in Tyler Christian and Cade Kaiser are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Dearborn Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Batesville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

South Dearborn is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Southwestern just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 75-52 to the Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since January 2nd.

Meanwhile, Batesville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Jets by a score of 72-64.

Batesville pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for South Dearborn, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

South Dearborn came up short against Batesville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 49-45. Can South Dearborn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
