Basketball Recap: St. John's Christian Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. John's Christian Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Greenwood Christian Hawks on Saturday, falling 65-41. The Cavaliers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Despite the loss, St. John's Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Thomas Hester, who posted 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Hester's morning made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Glover, who put up five points.

Leading Greenwood Christian to victory were Isaiah Scott-Palacios and Ty Kennedy. Scott-Palacios dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten boards, while Kennedy almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Scott-Palacios is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Vahjen, who earned two points and 11 boards.

St. John's Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Greenwood Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

St. John's Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenwood Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-68 loss against Orangeburg Prep on the 18th.
