Baseball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Canyon Crest Academy had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sage Creek Bobcats. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Jinho Bae was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Canyon Crest Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Leshner, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Canyon Crest Academy Ravens duke it out with Olympian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sage Creek, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Carlsbad at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
