Cardinal Newman won the last time they faced Rancho Cotate and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Cardinal Newman was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-20.

Kahlio Vaetoe paced Cardinal Newman's offense, picking up 13 kills. Vaetoe got some help from Carter Logan and his 25 assists. Logan was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Cardinal Newman's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Rancho Cotate, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
