Baseball Recap: Milton-Union Triumphs

Milton-Union won against Northridge on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-5 win over the Ansonia Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Karson Stone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Jacob Grube and Wesley Schommer did most of the damage at the plate: Grube went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Schommer went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Grube a new career-high. Dylan McGuffey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Milton-Union lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Milton-Union's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Ansonia, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milton-Union will take on Anna at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ansonia, they will challenge Celina at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
