Baseball Recap: Benjamin Comes Up Short

Benjamin came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Dwyer Panthers by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Drew Buchanan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Luke Taplett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Benjamin's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Dwyer, their record is now 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benjamin will take on Sports Leadership & Management at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benjamin is facing Sports Leadership & Management at the right time seeing as Sports Leadership & Management is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dwyer, they will face off against Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
