Basketball Recap: Rogers Comes Up Short

Rogers lost against Prior Lake back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rogers Royals took a 75-60 bruising from the Prior Lake Lakers. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Lakers are ranked sixth).

Rogers now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Prior Lake, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rogers will take on Spring Lake Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Lake Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Rogers likes a good challenge. As for Prior Lake, they will face off against Rosemount at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Prior Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
