Soccer Game Preview: Triton vs. Union Pines

Triton hasn't had much luck against Union Pines recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Triton headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Westover let them put that streak behind them. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand the Wolverines a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday. Given Triton's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Westover are ranked 539th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Triton hit Westover with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Madelyn Hair (2), Chloe Lucas, Danielle Fisher, and Payton Stocks.

Meanwhile, Union Pines waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gators. Union Pines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by three goals or more this season.

Triton's win bumped their record up to 7-4-3. As for Union Pines, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-1.
