It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Scotland had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Western Alamance Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Scots sure are getting used to it with their 24th in a row.

The result came thanks to Avery Stutts's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 25 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emily Sampson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Addison Lewis also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Scotland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in eight consecutive contests.

Scotland pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Western Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

As of now, neither Scotland nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
