Volleyball Recap: Southwestern's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Southwestern unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Dubuque Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Leila Lisk paced Southwestern's offense, picking up nine kills. Lisk got some help from Alyssa Shelliam and her nine assists. Shelliam was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for East Dubuque, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-8.

Southwestern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Riverdale at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Dubuque, they will challenge Boscobel at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
