Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Comes Up Short

Lake Worth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 40-29 to the Atlantic Christian Sharks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-19 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lake Worth still got an impressive performance from Jocilynne Sweeney, who posted seven points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Sweeney is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Milan Smith was another key player, putting up six points.

Atlantic Christian found their leader in sophomore Jaidah Chase, who earned 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chase has scored all season.

Lake Worth's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Atlantic Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Lake Worth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-40 defeat against Royal Palm Beach on the 14th. Atlantic Christian has also already played their next game, a 59-20 victory against Lake Worth Christian on the 14th.
