Recap: La Porte Slicers vs. Concord Minutemen

The La Porte Slicers lost against the Concord Minutemen back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. La Porte ended up on the wrong side of a rough 46-26 walloping at the hands of Concord. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for La Porte in their matchups with Concord: they've now lost three in a row.

Leading Concord to victory were Shelby Emerick and Dominique Stilley. Emerick scored 16 points along with 3 steals, while Stilley scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Emerick continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

La Porte bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

La Porte will head out on the road to face off against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merrillville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Porte in Indiana (Merrillville is ranked 134th, while La Porte is ranked 317th). As for Concord, they will be playing at home against South Bend Clay at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Bend Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Saturday.
