Basketball Recap: Las Plumas Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

If Live Oak wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Las Plumas, they should've done a better job of containing T.J. Thompson. The Las Plumas Thunderbirds blew past the Live Oak Lions 62-34 on Friday thanks in part to Thompson, who posted 17 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave him a new career-high.

Las Plumas is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Live Oak, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Las Plumas will square off against Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Las Plumas' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Oroville has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
