Baseball Recap: Bonita Springs Takes a Loss

Bonita Springs has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the American Heritage Patriots, falling 11-4. The Bullsharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bonita Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alan Palamino, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Jacob Estrada also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Bonita Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for American Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Springs will square off against Community School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Community School of Naples' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Bonita Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for American Heritage, they will challenge Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Canterbury has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
