Softball Recap: Brandon Bulldogs vs. Northwest Rankin Cougars

After flying high against Oak Grove last Tuesday, Brandon came back down to earth. The Brandon Bulldogs wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-4 walloping at the hands of the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brandon in their matchups with Northwest Rankin: they've now lost seven in a row.

Chloe Jenkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with a home run.

On Northwest Rankin's side, Jolie Hays made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Hays has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Hays was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
