Softball Recap: Biglerville Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Biglerville hadn't done well against Gettysburg recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Canners were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Canners, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sydney McCleaf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jocelyn Miller was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Ava Peterson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Biglerville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Gettysburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

As of now, neither Biglerville nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
