Softball Recap: Asotin Panthers vs. Freeman Scotties
Asotin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the Freeman Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-0 loss on Saturday.
Isabella Dougan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Georgia Schaefer, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Asotin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Freeman, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.
Coming up, Asotin will head out on the road to square off against Liberty at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Asotin their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Freeman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.13 runs per game on average), something Freeman will no doubt try to take advantage of.
