The Denver Christian Thunder are taking a road trip to  face off against the Forge Christian Fury  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams are coming into the  matchup red-hot, with Denver Christian sitting on  three straight  victories and Forge Christian on four.
If Denver Christian beats Forge Christian with 49  points on Friday, it's going to be the  squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two  games with that exact score. The Thunder really took it to Flatirons Academy for the full four quarters, racking up  a  49-22 win. The Thunder pushed the score to  35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bison cut but never quite recovered from.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Elijah Whitfield and  Daniel Copeland. Whitfield rushed for 75 yards and one  score while  Copeland rushed for 63 yards and one  touchdown. Whitfield really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 75-yard run.  Pete Smith made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 Denver Christian was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 315  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 175  rushing yards in four consecutive  contests.
 Denver Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Smith and  Whitfield. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian never let their opponents score on Saturday. They breezed past Platte Canyon to the tune of  38-0. Considering the Fury have won six matchups by more than 27  points this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Denver Christian better keep an eye on  Quentin Torres. He was instrumental in Forge Christian's win, rushing for 152 yards and three  TDs, while also picking up 68 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
 Forge Christian's record now sits at 7-1. As for Denver Christian,  the  victory  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Denver Christian took a serious blow against Forge Christian  in their previous matchup  back in November of 2024, falling  42-0. Can the Thunder avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
