Softball Game Preview: Midland Eagles vs. Springville Orioles

Midland hasn't had much luck against Springville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will face off against the Orioles at 5:00 p.m.

Midland is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They fell 7-4 to Central DeWitt.

Meanwhile, Springville earned a 13-8 victory over Starmont on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Orioles in their matchups with the Stars: they've now won five in a row.

Springville pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Midland skirted past Springville 1-0 when the teams last played back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
