Soccer Game Preview: Ocoee vs. Apopka

The Ocoee Knights will face off against the Apopka Blue Darters at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ocoee's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, neither Ocoee nor Dr. Phillips could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Apopka had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand Lake Brantley a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Darters who have now won four games in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Aiden Acosta, who's now up to 19 this season.

With that draw, Ocoee's record moves to 10-2-7. As for Apopka, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10-2.

Ocoee took their win against Apopka in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ocoee since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
