Baseball Recap: Sarasota Triumphs

The Sarasota Sailors earned an 8-3 win over the Timber Creek Wolves on Tuesday.

Sarasota got a massive performance out of Mark Metcalf, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Metcalf has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Evan Whitlock, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sarasota kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Sarasota's record is now 12-3. As for Timber Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Sarasota will face off against Fort Myers at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Timber Creek, they will head out to take on Palmetto at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
