Softball Recap: Hillcrest Wins Going Away Against Heritage

Hillcrest lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Heritage, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Trojans blew past the Patriots 14-4 on Thursday. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Ashley James looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Sierra Siracusa, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave Siracusa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Melody Acevedo, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Hillcrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 7-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Heritage, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hillcrest is set to take on their familiar foe Arlington at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Heritage will square off against rival Vista del Lago at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
