The Comfort Bobcats/Deer will head out on the road to take on the Florence Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Comfort took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over Brady. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats/Deer as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Ella Thiele made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Comfort let Jordan Judkins and Bella Hernandez run wild. Judkins went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Hernandez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Kaydence Stehling was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Comfort kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Florence entered their tilt with Brady on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 17-3. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won four matches by 14 runs or more so far this season.
Florence now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Comfort, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-15.
Comfort might still be hurting after the 14-8 loss they got from Florence when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Comfort avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
