Softball Recap: South Sioux City Cardinals vs. Benson Bunnies
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Omaha South, South Sioux City was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Benson Bunnies 10-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Paisyn Ross made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Ross was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Tranmer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Payton Derochie was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
