Softball Game Preview: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Tecumseh Braves

The Monrovia Bulldogs will challenge the Tecumseh Braves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monrovia comes in on three and Tecumseh on 21.

Monrovia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Greencastle as they made off with a 10-3 win. Ten seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lyla Wirey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Wolfe, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Monrovia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Tecumseh faced West Vigo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Braves never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Braves' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four games.

Tecumseh's victory bumped their record up to 28-2. As for Monrovia, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
