Julian Diaz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brady Buxbaum was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Nova put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Piper. The Titans walked away with a 5-0 win over the Bengals.
The result came thanks to Dylan Petersen's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.
At the plate, Nova saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Paredes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Angelo Rivas was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Nova's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5-1.
