Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Central Cobras had to suffer through a 76-39 loss at the hands of the Palm Bay Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Pirates are ranked seventh).

Leading Palm Bay to victory were Trishay Collins and Jaida Civil. Collins went 8 for 9 on her way to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Civil dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. That's the most steals Collins has posted since back in November of 2024. Carleyssia Wallace was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Central's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Palm Bay, they moved to 10-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-39 victory against Okeechobee on the 9th. Palm Bay has also already played their next match, a 93-10 win against Eau Gallie on the 9th.
