Basketball Game Preview: Lancaster Eagles vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Lancaster Eagles and the Serra Cavaliers will face off at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lancaster has three straight victories, Serra has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Lancaster duked it out withPalmdale on Friday. Lancaster walked away with a 68-61 win over Palmdale.

Meanwhile, Serra played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, falling 54-30. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Warriors are ranked 43rd).

Lancaster pushed their record up to 9-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Serra, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
