Basketball Recap: Hugo Comes Up Short

Hugo lost against Ada back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hugo Buffaloes took a hard 62-48 fall against the Ada Cougars.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sania Richardson, who posted 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Richardson has scored at least a third of Ada's points. Another player making a difference was Kennadee Bickerstaff, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Hugo has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Ada, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Hugo will face off against Silo at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ada, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ada Cougars face off against the Harrah Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ada knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Harrah likes a good challenge.
