Volleyball Recap: Beachside Comes Up Short

Beachside lost against Bartram Trail back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Barracudas fell 3-1 to the Bears. While the Barracudas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 25-19 in the first set.

Beachside started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-22.

Caleb Morgan paced Beachside's offense, picking up 14 kills. Morgan got some help from Troy Mailly and his 16 assists. Morgan was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

Beachside's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Bartram Trail, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Beachside has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against St. Augustine on the 16th. As for Bartram Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Nease on the 14th.
