Football Recap: Champion Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 36 points the game before, Champion was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a blow against the Brookfield Warriors, falling 41-9. Despite 83 more yards than the Warriors, the Golden Flashes couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Champion lost, don't look at Caden Rowland. Despite the final result, he rushed for 107 yards on only 14 carries.

Leading Brookfield to victory were Rico Smith and Cruz Torres. Smith rushed for 109 yards on only 15 carries, while Torres picked up 46 receiving yards and one TD.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brookfield, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Champion will take on Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Flashes will need to watch out since the G-Men have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Brookfield, they will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Leopards' defense has only allowed nine points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
