Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Ridgefield Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgefield Park). They put the hurt on the Cliffside Park Raiders with a sharp 14-1 victory on Wednesday. The Scarlets haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Riley Fucci spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Ridgefield Park got a massive performance out of Karylle Culala, who went 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Culala hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Rivera, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Ridgefield Park pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.2 runs this season. As for Cliffside Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgefield Park will welcome Ramsey at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cliffside Park, they will be playing at home against Paramus at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
