Softball Recap: Frederick Douglass Victorious

The Frederick Douglass Broncos had just enough and edged out the South Oldham Dragons 4-2 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Jarynn Bowman was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Happy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Frederick Douglass' record now sits at 19-7. As for South Oldham, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-11 record.

Looking ahead, Frederick Douglass will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Male at 4:00 p.m. As for South Oldham, they will take on Bullitt East at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
