Basketball Recap: Calvary Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If Lutheran wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Calvary, they should've done a better job of containing Luke Blackford. The Calvary Saints came out on top against the Lutheran Crusaders by a score of 55-47 on Monday thanks in part to Blackford, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Calvary's points.

Calvary is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Calvary won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Auburn at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Calvary surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lutheran, they will challenge Athens at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
