Softball Recap: Batesville Comes Up Short

Batesville was the 4-1 winner over South Dearborn when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs lost 17-7 to the Knights on Monday.

Caitlyn Fox and Payton Yorn did some serious damage despite the final result: Fox went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Yorn got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Fox is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Jadah Zins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Batesville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for South Dearborn, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
