Soccer Recap: Adairsville Comes Up Short

Adairsville managed to keep up with Gilmer until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Adairsville Tigers came up short against the Gilmer Bobcats, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Bobcats are ranked 107th).

Adairsville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for Gilmer, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adairsville will venture away from home to take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gilmer, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Gilmer face off against Ridgeland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They are facing Ridgeland at the right time seeing as Ridgeland is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
