Lynbrook is 1-8 against Cupertino since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lynbrook Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Cupertino Pioneers at 7:45 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Lynbrook didn't have too much trouble with Monta Vista on the road as they won 53-39.

Meanwhile, Cupertino waltzed into their game on Thursday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They secured a 53-47 W over Monta Vista. Given Cupertino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Monta Vista is ranked 672nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cupertino had a senior duo take command as Max Feldan scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and Soham Nighojkar scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. Feldan hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Lin, who scored seven points along with six assists.

Lynbrook is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season. As for Cupertino, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1.

Lynbrook was taken down by Cupertino 64-32 in their previous matchup back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lynbrook was down 37-11.
